    • Brendan has many years experience as a veterinarian with small animals. Some career highlights include:
  • Zoo Veterinarian for 3 years at Healesville Sanctuary, Victoria where he completed a Master of Veterinary Studies in Australian Native Wildlife
      • Past President (Founding President) of the Unusual & Exotic Pet Veterinarians special interest group of the Australian Veterinary Association
      • Lecturer in Wildlife & Unusual & Exotic Pet Medicine at Melbourne University and James Cook University, Townsville
      • Founding Member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians
      • Founding Member of the Association of Reptilian & Amphibian Veterinarians
      • Speaker at national & international conferences
      • Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (Unusual Pet Medicine and Surgery)
      • Associate Editor, Australian Veterinary Journal
      • Consultant in Exotic and Unusual Pets, Veterinary Clinical Centre, University of Melbourne


  • Dr Tania Mitchell
    • Associate Veterinarian
    • Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Massey University, NZ
    • Bachelor of Science (Zoology), University of Melbourne 
    • Tania has a strong interest in unusual & exotic pet care, with a particular interest in Avian Medicine: ask to see Tania if you have a sick bird
    • Currently works part-time but is hoping to increase her hours at Warranwood


Nursing Staff
  • Mrs Traci Brinksma: Senior Nurse
    • A pet groomer for many years until undertaking Veterinary Nursing Training
    • Has worked at several veterinary clinics over 15 years
    • A staff member of Warranwood Veterinary Centre since its opening
    • Varied pets at home include ducks, guinea pigs (breeding), rats and cats

  • Ms Tamara Morgan: Veterinary Nurse
    • Tamara is the newest member to our team - joining us in early 2006
    • Also works part-time for the live-exhibits team at Melbourne Museum
    • Tamara has a keen interest in unusual & exotic pets & keeps a variety of pets
